What size TV for 4 metres away?
From 4 m, a picture filling a cinema-like 40° of your view has a 132 inch diagonal. That is past any sensibly priced TV: this seat is projector territory.
The math of the seat
THX recommends a picture filling about 40 degrees of your horizontal view for the best seat. From 4 m (13.1 ft), inverting that angle gives a 16:9 diagonal of 132 inches; the shorthand is distance divided by 1.2.
No mainstream TV reaches the cinematic angle from this seat: even a 115-inch set fills only 35° from 4 m. A projector throwing a 132-inch picture fills the 40° exactly, and a projected image is continuously sizable, so that number is settable rather than shoppable.
From this seat, the conventional 60 central pixels-per-degree reference corresponds to about 101 inches at 1080p, 202 inches at 4K, and 404 inches at 8K. Smaller screens have higher PPD at the same resolution and distance. These are sampling references, not hard limits on visible detail.

Is a 115 inch TV too big for 4 metres?

For a diagonal d and aspect ratio w:h, screen width is d × w / √(w² + h²), and height is d × h / √(w² + h²). Area is width × height; PPI is √(horizontal pixels² + vertical pixels²) / diagonal in inches. Results are rounded for display.
Screen dimensions exclude the frame, feet and stand. Check the manufacturer's measurements for furniture and mounting clearance. A flat-screen viewing angle is 2 × atan(width / (2 × eye-to-screen distance)). The 40° cinema target is a preference, not a requirement; adjust the viewing angle for your room. It is approximately equivalent, for a 16:9 screen, to the distance × 0.835 sizing rule in the THX viewing guide.
The 60 central pixels-per-degree reference is a rule of thumb, not a guarantee that two displays look identical. Eyesight, contrast, source quality and panel technology also matter. Check sharpness at your own viewing distance.
